PUMS has joined Ecsite – the European Association of Science Centres and Museums, a leading European network of more than 400 institutions dedicated to science communication and public engagement.

Established in 1989, Ecsite connects universities, science centers, and museums across Europe and coordinates EU-funded projects in areas such as science education, sustainable development, and combating disinformation.

PUMS is the first strictly medical university in Poland and one of the first in Europe to join the network. This membership strengthens the University’s commitment to advancing modern health and medical communication and promoting reliable medical knowledge in response to the growing challenge of health misinformation. Through Ecsite, PUMS will collaborate with leading European institutions, share its expertise in medical education and health communication, and develop innovative science engagement initiatives.

The initiative to join the Ecsite network was led by Vice-Rector for Science Michał Nowicki and Piotr Rzymski from the Department of Environmental Medicine.
